Ohhh James You can do it ... its all practice, I have learned to take a picture before I move on something about the different perspective helps me notice like you and while I still have wet paint on the pallet
Great skin you and tidicco both are rocking.
I am gonna put some of the extra views at the site tim if it is OK with you.

@provoke_me: you could use shadow grey, than wash it with purple ink, wetbrush it with shadow grey and then highlight it to space wolfs grey or pallid flesh

Taban Studio : Barbarian Huntress

I needed a break from the giant sculpt, so I gave a go to this little maiden :
BarbarianHuntressWIP1.jpg

I tried a new way to do the skin : scorched brown, bestial brown, elf flesh, bleached bone, skull white. I thought the elf flesh would give a peachy feel to it ... guess not. The browns dominate with this technic. But I still found the result interesting. I\'m now thinking of adding blus facial paints. Your opinion on that?

Another thing I noticed : it\'s really hard to do decent blendings on such large figures. I have no idea how Tim managed so well with his knight ... oh wait a minute ... talent, that must be the reason;).

@Tracy : Thank you, but the quality of the mini helps a lot ;). Taban is french so the shipment was rather quick ;). When you get her, be careful, the feather is quite fragile. Mine broke off at the ear when I was painting :p. It glues on back quite easily with some super glue, but I still wish it hadn\'t broken ;).

Lictor shots, finally.

Well, after a 6 month hiatus from anything creative, I decided to jump back into it with a Lictor conversion I\'ve had in mind for awhile. I really hate the newer model, and the old one has a really odd stance. So, I decided to meld the two into something cohesive to how the new Tyranid designs are. The old model contributed the scythe claws and the head, the new model contributed the scythe arms, lower arms and torso. The legs are from an old Hive Tyrant. I re-sculpted the head and tail, plus added extra support for the upper arms and mid-section. All in all, I\'m pretty pleased with it. I\'m planning on doing a diorama with the Lictor coming out of camouflage to attack an unsuspecting Guardsman (but, aren\'t they all). The paint will gradate from camo to skin as the Lictor reveals itself. Anyone have any other ideas to add to it before it\'s primed?

Gotta be a Sandra Garrity sculpt. I\'m working on a very similar one currently. Good luck with the eyes...

Well this is my first post so I might not be able to get this pic up. Got the skin mostly done. Though I think I\'ll be going with GW Tanned Flesh instead of Dark Flesh as an undertone. Looks like too much contrast to me.

Any ideas on some \"original\" camo schemes? Don\'t like the old red bandana and greenfatigues

@dachande - Yes this is much more like a lictor to me, and for what it\'s worth you have very good sculpting skills too, now just to see it painted ;)

@Duende - Looking nice, i think the colours have been really well picked, ive always been a fan of models painted blue and cream, seems to be one of those combinations like bacon and eggs or fish and chips to me :D. but it\'s certainly coming along nicely.
