Is that you??????

Becca; that mini kind of reminds me of you the hair over one eye thing, not the wench part... ;) The red is looking good but I think I would highlight it a little bit more.

I finally finished the WIP I posted way back on page 4 of this thread. I wish I could crank out work like Tidoco, but I\'m just very slowwwww..

Please give it a look and maybe a vote or comment when you get a chance:

This is the latest to my list of WIPs. It is Elluvari Laser from Sacredblade Miniatures and man do they do some cool sculpts, it is also my first forray into using green stuff for anything other than filling gaps.

Hopefully he will come out something like the image in my mind, this is also going to be the first part of a larger piece if it all goes as planned.

@ Joshua that Widowmaker is looking cool, for somebody who said he sucked at NMM I wish I could suck as good as you lol.

@ Grumb Ilove that mini and have voted and commented.

@ ipaintminis keep it up it is lloking great.

Tidoco - thanks again for your comments on my Marcus Gideon! I really appreciate it.

That conversion looks great. Man, do you ever sleep. How in the world do you crank out so many minis??? ;)

ok about time i entered something! here is a scaly for a scavvy gang that i am doing. it\'s supposed to be a roaming scavvy circus (from the status: deadzone book) and all the models are from the morheim carnival of chaos

gs.jpg

adding scales and freaky hands. may add a horn coming from his head. not sure about the spear gun though (the spear is curing on the radiator at the mo) - i feel it\'s lacking something like a compressed gas cylinder.. any ideas?

Its coming to something when you have to pixelate the genotals of a mini:D

Tim....Elluvari is looking cool, love the base conception.Lego, chains, mesh and srinking straws, awesome. The addition on the front is a good idea, the shoulder pads need something extra on this one I thought,I do think you might have obscured the belt too much though.
Look forward to see him painted, there arent many Sacred Blades up apart from mine.
Arnesto Holt soon btw,I will try for a progress shot here.

Here he is then

Its a very quick photo but the main thing is a bit of an experiment with metals and nmm.Basically I have done the armour in a crude sky earth then give it metallic washes. It really does look fab in person. The left kneepad shows it best here, maybe.
You lot might think otherwise:D

Cheers Scott,,,the metal technique Im working on is aimed at larger scales.I need to tweek him a bit with some washes and dirt but Im very pleased with the look Im getting.Ive used a brown to blue blend for the underpainting and left out the horizon.Personally I think it looks more effective at this size when the horizon technique always looks too cartoony for my liking.

Mark that is looking ace I too have this one to do and I had pictured him with the dark skintone it suits the mini well. I intend my Elluvari to be facing off against him. You are right about obscuring the belt which is a shame though like I said it is my first attempt at using greenstuff. I shall have to make the best of it as I can.

So if I read that right, you painted it NMM and then did metalic washes? Neat idea, never would have thought of that.

Lately, I find myself caught up in the NMM crowd and I\'m trying to figure it out myself but I keep seeing more and more miniatures going back to metalics and I have to say that I like them (Grumbs Undead Hunter comes to mind). Particularly, Kapels gold that he painted up in a tutorial of late.

@ Duende

Heh, unleashed. He looks like a big boy.

Mark;

That is a really cool idea. He looks awesome! What are you using for your metallic washes? Also love your skin tones, what\'s your color combo?

@Duende; \"Bat\" that\'s bad... ;) Not sure I could even begin to suggest a color scheme for that bad boy...

@FF - flatered...:)

Cheers, Grumb

FF....its a very crude sky earth with no horizon underneath boltgun and mithral washes then blacks to re pick the detail.
The final shots will show it a lot better. It came about cos Im never happy with senmm I do on large areas and couldnt get anything using just metalics to look right.
Grumb....if I remember right the skin is a scorched brown base with a black wash then scorched brown through bestial with bleached bone added.Dont take much from this pic though, wait for the finished ones. His head looks down a bit and is very hard to light up so I will do a close up when he\'s done.

i purchased new vallejo colors (god i hate spending money on colors, i always get the feeling that i just payed money on nothing \"solid\" if you know what i mean) including the drying retarder to do some gold nmm but forgot about it lol and used the old gw ones ... whatever here\'s my first attempt on gold nmm that doenst totally suck! i still think it doenst look like \"real\" gold senmm but i hope thats due to the fact that i looked at it a long time in 3d (and we all know it doenst really work with 2 eyeballs ;))
so, you who havent seen it in 3d, tell me if its ok or if i should just overpaint it with real metallics
please be honest :flip:
cheers, josh

oh heres the pic i was babbling about:
widowmakernmm.jpg

and i like the colors of the demon of nudity :) but i guess it would have been more clever to prime it black ... like the widowmaker :D
really cool skintones but i would contact the manufacturer and complain about this horrible flash and mouldlines between his legs, looks almost as if it were censored ;)

Duende - i like the cat influence there, not too keen on the model personally, but you\'re definately doing well with the paintwork.

Joshua - NOOO! do not repaint with metallics, that\'s some of the best nmm ive ever seen, if only i could reach that level, what colours did you use for it (btw the whole model is looking excellent)
