Do you mean the World Model Expo, an event held every 3 years? The next one is in 2008, in Girona, Spain.
Every Expo is held in a different city, where a number of city\'s put forward proposals as to why they should hold the Expo. Some so far have been Glasgow, Toronto, Rome and last year, Boston.
It\'s a mainly historical miniatures event, but there is nothing to stop Fantasy pieces being entered; In fact I won a bronze medal in the master painting category for a CMON competition figure! A few members of this site were there; Einion (my room mate) and Vincenti were there.
The competiton uses an Open system of judging, in my view the best sort by far.
The competition lasted 3 days, but there were events running over the whole week. Lots of socialising, late nights, and good friendships made.
It\'s expected that the website for Girona 2008 will go live very soon, and I think it\'ll be a major event with, I imagine, the Spanish Team in full force and the French and other European folks going.
I know a load of americans will make the trip as the boston show was an amazing event. The awards ceremony was like an oscar ceremony (but without the speeches), names like Bill horan, Mike Blank and the father of Historical modelling, Shep Paine there too.
