Skeleton Regiment Champion with Freehanded Shield

One skeleton champion made from the GW Plastic Skeleton Regiment. Painted with normal techniques: white undercoat, thinned basecoats, ink washes for color and shading, lining, feathering, drybrushing. Painted with Citadel paints. This one was probably about 6 hours of painting. Freehanded the shield. This is the first time I've been happy with any of my "freehand" work so I thought I'd put it up on CMON to see if other people agree. The skeleton on the shield is from one of the large, pointed tombstones that come with the Zombie regiment. It was sliced off with an X-Acto knife, had its legs cut off so it could fit the shield, and was glued on. The moon was painted according to the actual moon. The two "ray craters" are Copernicus and Kepler.

I looked at the skelly and thought ok another standard well painted skelly. I went to click and had to stop because I saw the shield. It was AMAZING. It makes the entire model and I might steal that idea for something of my own. Outstanding!!
