IMHO, the current rating (3.6) is harsh. OK the paints could be a bit thinner, but the colors are applied cleanly on their designated zones. The armor is correctly shaded and highlighted. What is lacking is a similar treatment to the other zones; ie. the leather seems a bit flat and the skulls are a bit too white. More attention should be put on the side of the base so the brush strolks can't be seen. For an 11 year old, this is good! A little more practice and attention and it'll be a lot better ;).
