This is a work in progress of The Red Angel from Sam Wood's painting 'Blades of the Traitor' for a clients Word Bearers army. I still have to sculpt the hands, add more chains and a base with candles and fire plus some minor tidying up of various things. Comments welcome

Hi, thanks for your comment. I'm pretty sure the blood angel is possessed as there is a close up of the image with the caption "The Red Angel - Daemon". The painting can be found in volume III of the Horus Heresy artbook series. Yeah, there is some moulding used in this mini. Although some moulded pieces are moulded from my own sculpts :) Yeah, I agree more fire needs to be added at the back of the head.

So... What is happening here? Is the Blood Angel possessed or is he being burned to death? I don't know the story behind the painting, that's why I'm asking. Pretty nice sculpting. Even though I can spot some moulding. I would like to see longer flames behind the head.
