Cathayan Dragon in Progress

here is a conversion I have just started: basically it's a forest dragon tail with lictor rending claws, and an almost scratch-built head! Obviously he won't be held together with blu-tac when I'm done, the sculpting on the head needs some work (my first sculpt) and I might do something about the massive claw on his tail. I will green-stuff the lictor claws so they are more dragony, and the head will have some scales sculpted on, and I will need to give him a neck. I will update the image once he's undercoated, and then once more when he is painted! Unfortunately I won't be able to enter him for youngbloods, we'll see how it goes. Please give your ratings not on the basis of painting (there isn't any), but on what you think of the sculpting and the idea in general! I would be very grateful for any comments.

Thanks for commenting guys, though I thought 4 out of 10 was a bit harsh :( Anyway, I have got rid of the massive claw and replaced it with a tuft of fur on the end, like in many pictures of chinese dragons. I have 'scaled' one lictor claw, and added a tuft of fur to the elbow. The dragon now has a neck, with scales on his head, and has also grown a beard. The face has been tidied up too. Now I need to do the other lictor claw. I will post when I'm done :D

Like the idea and your plans - but you gotta give your dragon a chest & belly. Now it just looks like a dragon head on a tail (which is exactly how you made it...). Add greenstuff or whatever to make the tail wider between the arms (try to reproduce the tail surface). You might want to try splitting the tail end, this way you could just add greenstuff in between the back and belly (sandwich style).

Maybe add some additional, smaller horns on the head behind the ones you already have on there? Definitely clip off that enormous claw at the end of the tail... it's way too big. Also, see how the scales on the dragon's back are a simple diamond shape? Try rolling out and cutting some green stuff into similar thin shapes, and placing them on the arms to make then look less "Lictor-Ish". Nice job dude, keep up the good work!
