first mini I painted

this is the first mini I painted, it's far from good, but I think it's good enough for a first time. I'm rather proud :). Please comment on faults and suggestions to improve my work. thank you

The quickest and biggest thing I think that would make this mini pop is some black or brownlining. This is painting a thin line of black or brown between all seperate areas of the mini that are touching. The most obvious place for this on this mini is where the head/face meets the hair and where the wrists meet the bracers/Bracelets. I generally use Citadel black or brown ink for this, as the liquidity helps make a nice smoth line and naturally forms in the cracks. Also great to see a Heroquest mini up here. I should post mine someday.

I agree, good job on your first time out! You've painted him very neatly, which is important. You even have a nicely flocked base, very rare in a first mini! The boots look especially good. Try taking the pic from a little more head on and maybe more of him will be in focus next time. Keep on painting!
