n° 3 : gamling

the 3th mini I paint, it's rather nice but from distance. It looks very awful on these pictures :( :(. I'm not very pleased with the face, it doesn't look right at all. I had some problems with putting the base on. I used both basing and glue from GW itslef but it doesn't stick as well. Can someone tell me if they use an undercoat for the base? For the rest, keep posting suggestions and comments, I really like to improve! thanks (next work: Uruk Hai, shagrat)

This is a nice job for your third mini! I've heard these LoTR minis are on the small side, so that'll be part of the challenge you're having with the face. For the base, you can use white glue to glue on the components, but you can also use superglue (CA glue). It'll dry faster and probably more securely. Alternatively, after you've applied the base materials and the white glue has dried, take some new white glue and thin it a little with water and brush it over the base. It'll help the gravel stick, and also smooth it out and make it look more like dirt. Most people recommend painting the base gravel so it looks 'in scale' with the miniature.
