Ogre Irongut of the Mountaineater Tribe - Almost Finished

Here is my second ogre :D He has been converted - heavily repositioned, the shoulder of the left arm sculpted, his hook added, fur trim round his boots sculpted on, straps for his stone gutplate sculpted on. Now, this is by no means the finished product. From the photos I can see that his skin needs tidying up badly, his trousers are shiny (needs dullcote), bandages on his sword arm are crap, and the sword needs more work. I am, however, extremely pleased with the freehand on his trousers, and the manky HE shield and barrel of wine on his base :) i realise that the colour scheme is a bit dodgy, but I tried to keep it tied together by making his boots red. Gutplate also looks strange, but the mountaineaters' gutplates are made of stone, so the purple things, naturally, are crystals ;) Really, i am posting him to find out what you think so far: I would be extremely grateful if you told me which bits need improvement: I have taken into account comments from my first ogre, 116169, to make him better. I am hoping for my first average score of 8 or more! He is not a WIP, yet he ain't finished either :) so please, please leave a comment! And please, please bear in mind that I am only 13 years old! Thank you, I hope you like him :) Have a nice day! ~Bill

Ok 13 going on 30 by the skills shown here. :) A couple of points taken up from the self criticism you've already made. I agree that the bandages do need a little bit of 'pulling together' to raise their impact. The sword I have to be critical about in that you've actually put the rusted effect on the wrong edge. Any rust would be away from the sharpe blade and towards the back of the sword. On the skin tone I have no real criticism of the colour only he/it should really have darker nipples and aureoles. I think that the face is good but perhaps it needs a little darkening around the eyesockets to make the eyes "Pop". As for the hook hand there is something about the stump which I can't quite define, perhaps it needs to be made to look sore and irritated. But my last point is the Gutplate; What a great idea. It's not quite right yet, and not too far off either. There are a couple of articles about painting gems, which will give you the idea for the Finishing touches. I think the articles are buy Zaphod and or Saxonangel. As has been said before for 13 you are scary. :)
