Grisslor the bugbear

An early work on mine not impressive but I have always loved the shield. Comments and suggetion for improvement are always welcome.

I agree with Gilvan, you've got a steady hand but the colors are very clashy and you desperately need to learn how to shade and highlight. Brush on some very diluted dark brown ink (mix brown and black) to bring out some definition.

You obviously hhave fairly good brush control, which you can see mainly in the eyes. Except for a distinct lack of shading or highlighting, I think the biggest thing that would help is some Colour Theory. The number of colours on this guy makes it hard for the eye to focus on any one area and the contrast is a bit much. For this guy you want the eye to focus on one of two place, either the shield or the face. There is a great article written by Crispy in the article section on colour theory, I suggest giving it a read. Good luck with your future endevors.
