Silent Hill 2 Pyramid Head

Well, im a bit pissed of right now since my computer crashed during writing a whole lot about this mini that i made. So I'll just have to tell a short story about it. It is mostly a tribute to one of my favorite game on Playstation 2, (Silent Hill 2 from Konami), so it is a heavily converted mini (i used plastic dark eldar warrior parts, and some parts from the plastic skeleton warriors, hence Games Workshop as manufacturer), that is supposed to look like one of the creepiest monsters I have ever seen in a game, The Pyramid Head. I didnt want to give him a paintjob with all them snazzy effects (like extreme layers of highlightning, and nmm and stuff like that, which i usually like to use on my other minis), I wanted him to look like he does in the game, which is dirty and rugged, and downright creepy. So i basically used rusty metal colors (Like Brazen Brass and Boltgun metal), which got a serious inking job (Black Ink, Brown Ink and Red Ink), for the metallic parts (the helmet and the knife). The body was painted with pale fleshy colors, and was then covered in the same grey dirt that my reference picture showed that he had (but i painted some purple veins on him too). And the apron and gloves was painted with a basecoat of fortress grey, and then a second coat of bleached bone, which was the highlighted with skull white (the gloves got a lot of skull white since i wanted them to look a little like rubber surgical gloves). After that i used browns and blacks and dark greens o give him a lot of filth, and then i spattered red ink all over with a follow up of brown ink to make it look like he was covered in blood (the best technique i found for fresh looking blood is painting it first with scab red, then covering those areas with red ink and brown ink, it looks really great). So in the end he looks really filthy and bloody, especially on his hands (to quote Caleb form the old FPS shooter Blood: -"I like my hands bloody" :D) I dont know i you all who haven't played Silent Hill 2 will think that this is a very cool mini, but i ask of you, before you judge me to harshly to consult someone who have played SH2 first. :) P:S Uhm, for some reason i cant seem to post public comments, so im saying it here instead: I know the helmet looks quite big, but its mostly due to the angle, since he is posed to hunch forward a bit, if hou look att the mini from the sides or the back the helmet dont look as big. I will post other pictures pretty soon so that you all can see for yourselves... D:S

I'm a great Silent Hill fan too. I played all parts of the game and next Sunday I will watch the movie. I love the idea that you did one of these helmet monsters for us. It looks like in the game, so I can say: Good job. But I think it would look better if the mini were not so close to the camera. By the way: Base looks good too.

ok i am a MASSIVE silent hill fan. i have played the 2nd game countless times and must say that finding your mini here was a real treat. ive been thinking about doing a mini PH for a long time but have never got round to doing one. you have captured the feel of him very well and the dirty grime is just how it is in the game. one small gripe would be that the helmet is a tad too big, but it may just be the angle. would love to see the movie version!
