Gorkamorka Ork
Gorkamorka Ork: Here’s something a little different for me, an Ork I like. Originally this Ork was the Games Day figure a few years ago. And here he is painted up to look like a real Tough Dark Ork. I used an initial coat of Vallejo Burnt Cadmium Brown to give the skin a richer colour than the black undercoat and then started to work up using Vallejo Black Green and Reflective Green for highlights. In between the highlights he got several extremely thin washes of Burnt Cadmium Brown mixed with Black Green to smooth out the transitions. I used Metallic paints on this figure and worked in the rust effect very carefully with thin glazes of both Windsor & Newton Raw and Dark Sienna. Some additional work on the metals was done with Vallejo Black Glaze, which really helps to take the “newness” off the metallic paints and give it an aged look. He is now, though Dauber22, in the collection of Dedwrekka.
