Hiya. There are a couple of voter tendencies hurting your score here. The main one is that most voters really hate a gloss finish, which makes it hard to distinguish the highlighting done by the artist from glare caused by gloss. You can gloss for protection and then use Testors Dullcote or Reaper Master Series brush on or a number of other matte options to dull the shine. Voters also expect to see a finished base. You can look in the tutorials section for more info on basing and such. The fade from black to red that you've done on the sword is interesting, and I like how you've picked up the texture in the boots. The metal areas need some washes or other shading to give them definition, and the largeness of the eyes gives him a bit of a startled look.
