Eldar Farseer (Commissioned Piece)

This is one of two figures done for commission. The colour scheme is to match the Sam-Hain Eldar Craftworld (as if you hadn't guessed). I decided after discussing with the now owner that the farseer should stand out therefore tjhe colourscheme is a little darker than the traditional Sam-Hain. Primed black and worked up the levels of GW Scab Red/Scorched brown/ChaosBlack right through to Fiery orange, liberally washed over with deep red ink (several coats) & to achieve the depth of colour. In all about 9-10 layers of blending. In total about 15-20 hours painting time over four days. One thing about this figure is the difficulty to attach the hand holding the spear. Both hand and wrist are to thin to pin properly so this took a great deal of care to glue together. If I were to do this figure for myself Iwould not use Superglue but look to 'No more nails' or something similar. Really happy with the freehand on the back of the figure. I had originally thought of doing NMM on this but realised that this would in fact not work on this figure. My earnest thanks to all those painters on this site who have freely given their time and effort to leave advise, without it I would not have achieved this improved level of painting, as opposed to when I first posted on CMON. Many Thanks to all.

Very nice, I like the colour scheme. Maybe the base could be spiced up a little.

Well that's sure coming on! I like this piece far more than the Space Marine. The work you put into that red has really paid off it seems.

The pose is nice & the colours worked well here. From the pic, it looks like you've not done any highlights on the back of his helm (wings). However, you still get my scores for the smooth blending on the cloak as well as the freehand.
