This is a superb job on a norman archer. I have to agree that the wood could use some grain, and that the base is important, but just for the paint job on the rest, this easily deserves more than a mere 6.4. The face and skin is really well done. The clothes are very nice as well! I would like to see the rest of your Normans!
6.5? This deserves at least 7.5. The highlights are great, the colors ore great. Only problems I see are the base, no string in the bow and the wood needs grain. Those wont stop me from giving it an 8.
