1/35 Russian Officer

This is a 1/35 scale resin model by Alpine Miniatures. The sculpt is very high quality with good details and almost no mold lines and flash. I approach this model with a different style from my usual painting. I tried to achieve directional lighting, also I did not use white. I read about this and have heard from historical painters that white will change the tone of the colours used. This is why most historical figures then to look less highlighted and subtle. Hope you all like my 1st attempt on a historical vignette.

Good job!! I also like the face, nice skintones and good shading. Highlighting looks good, so I think it was the right decision to avoid highlighting with white. I like the base very much too.

Super job on the face and hands, and I think the shirt came out quite well. I also really like the worn look of the boots, and I think the overall scene is very nicely done. The shading on the pants looks a little muddy.
