Forest Nymph

This was my entry for Wyrd Miniatures' Femme Fatale II competition where I got 2nd place in the naughty category! ;) I really wanted to paint this simple, yet extraordinarily beautiful sculpt by Kev White and thought that it would be slightly more "Fatale" if I called it a nymph instead of a concubine, which is Hasslefree's name for it. So, I tried to get her facial expression to look a bit more vicious by shading the area around her eyes quite dramatically and I did a forest floor base for her. I also tried to get a very clear sense of overhead lighting on this one.

I'm changing my previous 9.5 to a ten :P After seeing this in real life, its only fair that I do. Unfortunately this pic has taken the deepness of the rich brown/red shading away, and left only starker black areas. On the actual model, the blends are much, much smoother and flow through alot of different colour nuances. The eyes were also pretty amazing, just been able to get the amount of detail and colour into the tiny area demands extreme skill and probably a heck of a lot of patience. Just how you have really brought a 'plain' (Very little to work with, just flesh really) miniature to life amazes me, and it was a great joy talking about it to you (and comparing it to mine :P )
