Black Templar Terminators
To reconstuct the spirit of the Black Templar chapter I have spent long hours studying GW articles and books. I like their dark gothic climate, their faith in the Emperor and their eternal crusade. One of the most crucial moments was to decide what technique to use while painting the armour. Finally I decided to compile two techniques: known to everybody technique of highlighting, and traditional (used by modellers) method of 'burned steel'. The second one after polishing gives the effect of a beautiful shining armour. What's more I added a lot of purity seals (which are so characteristic for BT) and other special equipment and banners. To get the right effect of the seal I used old modellar practice of 'clearer' - after painting it traditionally I painted them with the special Tamiya X-27 clear. Note the incantations and prayers on their armour too. Finally to get the game of lights effect I added white highlights at the edges by painting thin lines with the side of the brush. Then the time for bases came. I made them of resin with the same method as the Forgeworld's. They look like the small pieces of the battlefield. Just look at the tectonic clefts, cracked rocks and motor tracks. I had them ready because we use them for basing commision work miniatures. Painting of these bases is fast (simple drybrush) but effective - isn't it?
