Elmore Dragon Set #1

This was a nice fun experiment! It used a lot more airbrushing than my previous dragons; the green parts of the wings were only airbrushed and washed, for instance. Most of the green was airbrushed with some light highlighting with a normal brush. The blue parts were all done after with a normal brush. The stripes were painted twice; once half-way through the airbrushing -- by airbrushing over the stripes after, it made it look like the stripes were natural as opposed to just painted on. The snow was done by woodland scenics snow mixed with a clear gel medium and white paint. Snow was sprinkled on after applied. This was asked to be done as close as possible to the original artwork; it can be found at Larry Elmore's page here: http://www.larryelmore.com/galleries_paintings01.html ; second row, second image (assuming the layout is always the same...) This was painted in September, 2007.

Don 't really like the mini. It's like a lizard with cardboard wings glued on it. (But I'm not gonna give you a bad rating for that.) I enjoy the blue underwing.(is that what it's called?) Strirps also very well done.
