Skull Pass Dwarf Warrior (First mini in new army...)

I haven't painted a mini since 1995 but I'm getting back into it. I've decided to kick things off with a Dwarf Army for WFB. I bought the Skill Pass Box Set and am using the Dwarfs inside as starters. I'm doing to warriors first. This is my test mini for colors and whatnot. I'm not sure yet what to do with the bases. I just added some sand for texture so far, I'm thinking about trying a snow theme. I've never tried to model snow so I thought it could be fun. Anyway, comments/advice are very welcome. Thank you!

You can always start the highlighting by using a beige or some other yellowish colour and then take it further to white. It's just that the straight from green to white looks a bit sterile.

I'll definitely give the bleached bone a shot. I like coming all the way up to white on the shields but you're absolutely right that the transition could use some help. I really /don't/ like how the white turned out on the sleeves and that's what I'm working on with the rest of the unit, atm. Perfect opportunity to give the beige a shot! =P

Very good after such a long time not painting! Your metallics, as mentioned by the other commenters, are particularly good. You have smooth surfaces and good neatness. A suggestion about the green... Use a light beige colour to highlight it instead of white, and you will get a softer, more natural look. Something like GWs Bleached Bone or P3 Menoth White Base would work well.
