This isn't a 6, but I think it's more than a 5. It does have problems with the banner, but you have accomplished a basic table top miniature. I think basing it would bring it up higher. The pose isn't to dynamically different than standard stuff, but you aren't doing a bad job either. Just take your time and keep working at ti. My first templars didn't look much to different than this, and you actually put on a banner too.

I'd say that the painting was solid tabletop standard and pushing just a bit beyond that. Lack of any detail on the base means -1, though. A bit of flock or sand will work wonders. You're not doing anything wrong that I can pick on. I'd say: keep doing what you're doing and you'll get better quickly. With Black Templars, though, a bit of highlighting (just Codex Grey on the very edges of the armour plates) goes a long way. Plus, make sure that the distinction between black armour and bare metal is as unambiguous as possible.

Sorry, but I can't give you more than a 4 right now. A few tips though: 1. Take your time to scrape off any mould lines, as these really hurt. 2. Don't use GW-brushes. They suck. Get some smaller ones from a different company (whatever you can get in your area) 3. Keep trying! Practice will always help you to improve.
