I don't like the themed bases for playing, I mean, a very rich grass and debris base look good for exibition but look really weird inside (for example) a spaceship, grated floors under a one inch piece of nature XD
So my idea (and I like it) is putting that bases not to look lika a who-knows-what-kind-of-TRONish-shit-is-this but to look like the user interface of a Real Time Strategy computer game... you know, that cursor that appears under the unit with usefull information. So you take the role (while playing) of a high tech commander behind a holographic interface... or something like that ;)
Like it or not, that is the plot!!
And the paint blending... you are right, I can work them pretty much but in fact my target is to finish the miniatures with enough quality to make them work on the field but not spending too much time on them. I'm damn old (33 years) and now my spare time is very restricted, so if I want to have someday all Panocs painted I can't spende too much time on them. :)
Thank you for your comment, a constructive critic is ALWAYS wellcome :)
I really like the Infinity range of minis and it's great to see them appearing here on CMON. But I've got a couple of point of constructive criticism on the ones I've seen from you so far. First, the use of the stick-on base doesn't complement the minis. They have no context. I'd strongly advise you to ditch this technique for more traditional painted sand with a bit of static grass. Seconly, you're getting a very rough finish all over the mini - I don't know if this is the casting or the painting. But if it's the latter, I suggest taking more time on the skin areas, and doing some more subtle blending. This should serve to give a stronger texture distinction between clothes/armour and flesh, giving the model more character.
