Valkia the Bloody, Consort of Khorne

Important note: You are viewing and voting on a ‘green’ (a miniature I sculpted myself) – I would appreciate it if your vote could reflect that, rather than taking into account the non-existent paint job. Thank you :o) Ok, this piece is the culmination of the better part of a months work. It is my interpretation of Valkia the Bloody, Consort of Khorne, as detailed in the Games Workshop Army Book: Warriors of Chaos. I would never normally tackle something so ambitious as this, but when my house flooded, and I had to stay up all night watching water run into the bath through a jerry rigged pipe before the plumbers could come, I went and got my sculpting stuff and just began to poke around. I had been challenged to make Valkia a couple of weeks before, but had experienced nothing but heartbreak when I tried to convert her from a couple of inquisitor miniatures. Anyway, she sort of came from these two things, and over January, I got her to this state of completion. I should point out that since these pics were taken, I have made her a lovely scenic base on which to perch majestically, and a wickedly sharp spear with which to smite the enemies of Khorne’s feminist lobby which I fondly imagine she chairs. Sadly I don’t have any pictures of those bits which I can share with you. The fluff says that she has been raised to daemon prince(ss)dom, so I felt her size should reflect that – she currently stands 70mm hoof to eye or there abouts. Plenty big enough to take on even the biggest ugliest bestie. Thanks so much to everyone who has given feedback in real life, and in my two wip threads (one on CMON, and one on platoonbritannica.org.uk). In particular, Alextheartist, Boris and Vincenti. You’re all legends in your own way. Thanks for looking, any feedback you choose to give me will be most welcome, and will help me to up my game in the future.

First and foremost, I applaud your excellent ability to craft this, My friend and as of a week ago are collecting fantasy Daemons and he was thinking of making Valkia using Saint Celestine and converting it a little. Though I think this model in particular could use more plate of sorts, Overall, impressive as all hell. May I ask how much green stuff you used to craft it?

@waghorn41 I agree, they are thick, when I do my next sculpt with wings they will be more delicate by a good way. @the green man: She does! she has a shin guard, an armoured corset and a shoulder pad. Granted it's not much, and the loin cloth won't stop a cannon ball, but hey! I just wanted to go with something other than what is shown in the (very cool) artwork of the book.

Great work. Agree with you re. thighs and breasts... And isn't she supposed to have some armour?
