Imperial Guard Trooper 317th

Test figure aiming for tabletop quality trooper. Planning on painting around 80 or so of these guys for a new IG army. Having trouble with the boots their color seems off. Was wondering if I should paint them brown as well or switch to solid black without the grey guards. Any suggestions, tips, comments, or questions welcomed.

I'd go for dark brown boots and black leg guards. You could also benefit from some contrast on the rifle, like a dark brown stock or something.
