Beastman hornblower
This is the fixpoint of a beastherd I made some years back. Being unemployed at the time I spent a huge amount of time finishing of small details. Looking at it again I'm really happy with the result. The model is a standard plastic beastman from GW. The magic mushroom is the only modeling job on this mini! :) The model is painted from a black undercoat, which was left intact in the deepest crevices. All skin, leather and bone is based on the same dark brown (GW:s Scorched Brown) to create a coherent look. Fur was painted with a grey colors. This was also my first serious attempt at NMM. In this instance the white metal is grey as the fur, while the gold is based on the same brown color as the bone. A big challenge here was to make the distinction between bone and gold even though the same color palette was used for both. In the end I'm happy with the result. With the possible exception of the sword. I chose to paint some of the trinkets as gem-stones to get some different colors into this model. Dark green and dark red that I felt suited the dark forest/jungle aura I wanted for this army.
