LOTR High Elf Spearman

This was the first Lord of the Rings miniature I painted. I really wanted to be true to the movie in the colour scheme. This was also an experiment in metallic blending. I worked up from shining gold heavily ink with chestnut ink, through nine successive layers/blends of shining gold and mithril silver, up to the final highlight of pure silver. As this was likely to be the only Elf Spearman I was going to do, I spent a lot of time on him, even to the point of putting in wood grain and making sure the face and eyes look good from very close. Comments always welcome. Cheers, Darkblade [AAvH-Darkblade]

Good mini! But if you notice in the movie the Armour has distinct green in the recesses and cracks. Weta Workshop can be seen undercoating the armour used in the movie on the FOTR EXT.DVD.
