LOTR High Elf Spearman

This was the first Lord of the Rings miniature I painted. I really wanted to be true to the movie in the colour scheme. This was also an experiment in metallic blending. I worked up from shining gold heavily ink with chestnut ink, through nine successive layers/blends of shining gold and mithril silver, up to the final highlight of pure silver. As this was likely to be the only Elf Spearman I was going to do, I spent a lot of time on him, even to the point of putting in wood grain and making sure the face and eyes look good from very close.
