If I had to guess- lots of drybrushing? If so, the problem with drybrushing is that it is untidy by nature- you are leaving the paintstokes largely to chance so it makes lots of 'static' strokes- those that detract from the detail of the miniature. An example is on his 'boots'. you have a black line showing the armor plating but it is 'scratchy' cause little lines of green have went into it. In some casess- like the face, all detail is obscured due to this static. Don't get me wrong- for a base coat of fur drybrushing will do, but for armor, fabrics and skins you never want to drybrush. Hope this helps more than it hurts- don't take it too harshly. I can tell you have talents- just spend more time developing a good brushstroke- you wont be dissapointed
