CMON Girl

A lovely model I couldn’t resist buying and painting. I like Steve’s stuff anyways (especially the few historicals) and he has done a great job with this girl. The face is realy great as is the hair. Its nice to see a sculpt kept simple without any any strange poses or overdetailed equipment, this gives much more possibilities to paint than most other fantasy models I saw in the last few years. As for the painting I wanted to keep the colours simple so I went for a selection of browns with some yellow ocre for the gold parts and grey for the weapon. The weapon is a bit huge for the girl so I hoped to get it less exaggerated with a neutral colour.

It's so simple yet so pretty. I'm a bit confused on what's going on with the spear head, but everything else is marvelous. I expecially like how well the cape turned out. No back shot?

Damn that's good. Well-based too. I think painting in the nipples was unneccesary though. Makes it a little too cheesecake-y.

Very smooth paintjob, although I'm not sure what you are trying to achieve with the dark horizontal lines on the weapon. They look a bit weird to me.
