Slayer Spider Tank 40k
It took a while, but finally i made it... i was playing around with the idea of some sort of mecha-tank... but since i didn't find legs that really suited my idea, the whole model didn't look right... and then GW released the Chaos Defiler, an ugly thing... (i think :-() But the legs seemed so right... so i bought the kit, did some conversion on it (armourplating is plasticard), made the hull look like something a space marine army could use, slapped some guns on it :-) Assaultcannon, rocketlauncher and Autocannon... this thing is a real pain in the infantrybutt :-) After playtesting it, i must say... it's pretty good stuff, made a rule so that the turret can be lifted over an obstacle (some sort of popup-attack) shoot and then duck back after the obstacle... works quite good ;-) The scenery had to show that this thing really is big and heavy, so i made the tiles in the ruin to look like they were pressed down due to the weight of the machine of destruction. Underneath it there are two slaughtered eldar guardians, one of which is laying facedown in a puddle (epoxy was used to make the water). Yepz, eldar footsoldiers are no match for my puppy :-) The pictures were made with a webcam, so quality is pretty poor, as soon as i have my decent digital camera i will post some new pictures. To give an idea, the model looks like it has seen a lot of action, there is some damage on the legs, and the overall look is muddy. I like the model so much i wanted to share it with the coolminiornot-community, hope you find it cool ;-) Greetz, McBain
