Maneater of Zharr-Naggrund

"I worked for the evil stunties and all I got was this lousy armor!" I had this conversion shuffling in my closet for about 3-4 years and finally kicked myself to paint it. Mainly the reason was that I could practice my metal painting skill as I'm (was?) very poor at it.

Thanks for the comments, folks! Craken, do you mean the mix for the rust? That rust was quite easy to achieve without any special techniques or pigments and paints. Actually I made it up just accidentally - and good accident it was. I started with VGC Gunmetal Metal basecoat (~GW Boltgun Metal) and then washed it with Devlan Mud and 1-2 times with Ogryn Flesh. After that I gave the places that would gather moisture a brisk washing of VGC Beasty Brown and then a Ogryn Flesh wash (don't let it pool too much!) to kill the heavy contrast between the metal and brown. Next I picked out the most rusted places with watered-down GW Vermin Brown. After that I drybrushed the surfaces with VGC Gunmetal Metal. Finally I just made some extreme highlighting and scratches with GW Mithril Silver. And lastly, if something didn't look "right", I just calmed it down with Ogryn Flesh or emphasized with watered-down GW Vermin Brown (eg. around bolts). Snow on the armor was just made with white wash.

I will stick with "was". That is a pretty sweet conversion, very well executed. The weathering and the face mask make the mini look like an ancient, rustic, emotionless and relentless killing machine. Great work!
