A Midnight Visit (a dark version of Snow White & Rose Red)
A wonderful sculpt (~1/7 scale) by SAKURAKO IWANAGA which she called Melty Snow based on the poem Snow White and the Seven Deadly Sins. You can check out the sculptors other work here: http://shokuen.com/ I have taken this theme and created my own dark version of the Grimm's fairy tale Snow White and Rose Red. In my version, a dark (mourning) Snow White visits the grave site of her sister (Rose Red) who died as an infant ... she places roses on the gravestone of her fallen sister. I picked up the tombstone from Design Toscano ... stripped it and repainted it. I sculpted both the tree in the background and the snowy base. And, of course, I hand-painted Snow White with acrylics. I thought the gold picture frame added to the "storybook comes to life" theme I was going for. If you would like to see more detailed pictures, please head to my web-site ... I hope you enjoy the piece. jim
