Make sure to clean up the flash/mold lines. If you miss some you can pick these up when you prime your figure. Try and choose 2/3 colours when you first start painting any more and you run into colour confusion. Also this doesn't look like a great figure imho to begin with. Figure selection makes a difference especially when starting out. Paint your base and decorate it with some flock/grass/ sand etc. The photograph is HUGE. It only shows the negative side of most peoples work (even the vets) Remember we don't examine figures this closely when they are on the table... Practice is the key. The more you paint the better you will get!
