Tempus Fugitives
An idea that came to me following a disturbed nights sleep because of nightmares(!). Having already painted the Sascha Dubois figure I had the male figure (Andre Durand) in mind as a companion piece. It was a matter of painting them up and then constructing the base/backdrop. I'd done a draft sketch of something I had in mind and armed with that and an ebay purchase of watch parts, 'The Game was Afoot!'. Painting the two figures took roughly three days a piece, but the backdrop took the best part of a week to construct and paint, dropped brass gears not easily being able to be found on a brown carpet. (Until you put a bare foot on them!) This was a Salute Competition entry for 2012 and I'm please to say that I obtained a Finalist certificate for it. (Especially as it was entered in the same category as the piece that took best of show!) The name was intended as a slight pun, "Tempus Fugitives".
