Garden of Morr Test Piece

I painted up this small section of the Garden of Morr set to test out the paint scheme and also a new painting technique. I wanted to paint it in a bold, more artsy style than a realistic style. I like it but want to push the contrast more as I go on. Also finding a colour to complement the basecoat (shadow grey from VGC) to paint the other broad surfaces with: roofs, tilling, coffins.

Thank you for your comments! I actually used Torchlight 2 as a reference for the art style I like. I've never played Killer 7. :)

Loving the style. Everyone takes these small, almost cartoon-like miniatures (what am I saying, almost?) and then attempts to paint them hyper-realistically. I always love it when people make it look like art, more like the original sculpt. GOod job!

It as good start, kind of cartoony realism. Reminds me of the video game on the Wii Killer 7. May want to check out some screen captures from that for a bit of inspiration ;)
