Dark Sisters
A new job has kept me from painting as much as I'd like, but I finally finished painting this fantastic sculpt (1/7 scale) (63 pieces) from pkking. One thing I'd like to mention about this sculpt, it's amazingly engineered ... no putty work and if you wanted, no glue was necessary to put the entire piece together. Every layer of pieces was very carefully designed to cover any gaps in the level below. PK is a true master. I've taken pictures both with and without the sisters so that you can see the cool "ghostly" details of Yan Wu who has two living daughters. The ethereal base of the main character was cast in clear resin and I painted it with very thin layers so some small lights that I placed inside could help with the "otherworldly" effect. I also spent a long time on the flower pattern on the "purple" daughters dress to make it look like cheong-sam. As always, the entire piece was hand-painted with acrylics.
