Water God complete

my lastest work. i want to thanks all those who had left their comments on my pervious miniatures. if u happen to see this, thank u! :o) hopefully i've improve a bit... this is my 31st mini painted n the 2nd time trying blending after getting much advices from the seniors. ;o) i never add any ink wash to this mini, will it be better to add it for blending? pls enlighten... also if u r wondering why did i change that awsome sword with this spear... if u had seen my earlier work, 'emchamp' sadly it is the same piece. i wanted to over paint the gold to blue but make a mess. in the end i had to wash all the paint off. then disaster stike when i drop the sword into the sink!! that's how the mini ended up with this spear. hopefully it turn out not too bad. :o) merely paint for fun n enjoyment, i don't wargame. result: don't really hang around much at the local GW, thus hard to improve my skills since not much advice. will really be greatly appreciated if u gals/guys can give your advices. Thanx a lot! Cheers.

i really like this peice! as for inks i feel inks are better employed as a liner to bring out details and joins in armour etc... heres a little technique i use! as you lay on the colours in each stage to blend, use the last ,lightest colour ,and add loads of water to it (so its like just coloured water ) then with this re-paint the whole area you just blended ( i know it sounds brutal and does require practise ) but this is what really pulls the colours together ! then continue blending to your desired level of highlight! repeating this process as you go! also when painting always use the paint in thinner translucent layers! as one layer will over lap the other! and will result in a smooth clean graduated highlight blend! keep it up this looks fantastic and i think you have deffinitley improved!!!! an 8 for me !

I like the dynamic posing of this mini, with the wings. I saw the other pic of it withought the wings and the display base. Leave it like this, it really adds to the piece. Try using inks, there made for a reason, a light ink wash can really help to pull colors together, mess around with them. Good job on the blues, keep trying with the blending. You'll get it soon enough.
