Visions in Colour # 9 entry

Well this is my VIC#9 entry. It’s my first entry into the ‘Miniature-Painting.Net’ competitions but it won’t be my last. This is one sweet mini and my admiration of Werner Klocke’s sculpting skills is going up all the time. The first time I saw the ‘green’ for this I was struck by the atmospheric look to the whole mini. It was a joy to paint despite a couple of near misses with dropping the mini; fortunately, there was no damage done, either time. Technically, it has been painted with Games Workshop, Foundry, Vallejo and Winsor & Newton’s paints. There are no inks used and the parts I’m most please with are (in no particular order) the Woodwork, the Trousers and the Knives. Regarding the face, I deliberately left it slightly paler than I would normally have done as I thought this character had either an Elven look to him, or a pinched, determined, slightly grim face. The Building I painted to match a daubed Tudor style house I’d recently seen and the roof tiles were painted to match old & worn Cedar shingles. (I obviously watch way too much “This Old House with Steve Thomas & Norm Ahbrams”!) Hope that you like this picture and as always your comments are appreciated.

What's amazing is not how good this figure is, but how you consistantly put out figure after figure of such high quality. The stucco is perfect. Great work.
