dark angels deathwing terminator from DV set

Hi, this cool model is from the Dark Vengeance set, and is also my first attempt on painting a Terminator Armor. For this little cool guy, I tried to finish him quickly. First, I sprayed him black( trying to catch the overall dark tone of the outer armor); Then, I base coated him with USHABTI BONE, Caliban Green for the power fist shell and several spots of metal touch. After that, I washed him with AGRAX EARTHSHADE, followed by highlight the edges of the armor using the base color paint. Finally, dry-brushed the wing piece and finished several fine touches. After around 5-6 hours of work, I got him in my camera booth. He is my fifth paint job, still very rough though. cheers!

6.3 nice tabletop work. You can tell some of the lesser techniques were used.. Washing the whole model(next time just as you layer on highlights lighter and lighter with thin coats try laying in your shadows increasingly darker (still thinned) in the places light don't receive. Look in oz painters the medieval article "the stop sign rule" it explains zenithal lighting. It should help ou. And when working with thinned paint use for every one drop of paint one drop of retardent (reaper makes a good one , and one drop of flow inprover( reaper also makes a good one. If you need it any thicker you add littler brushstripokes of paint. The consistency your looking for is (if you had a well palette you drag the paint up the side if the well it should flow right back down slowly ! Any questions on blending go to you tube and look up studio mcveyesque blending tutorial !! Keep up the good work bud!
