I would also add that you should probably look into getting a flat spray finish such as Testor's Dullcote to take the shine out of the figure. The horse looks rather glossy as does his armor. If you want something to look glossy you can always go back over it with a brush on gloss varnish. Cheers!

hey, its not bad! indeed its a cool mini, but if you want to have tips, here they are: i am not a big fan of nmm, and i think that you used metallis? is that right? if so: you can blend metallics as good as normal colours, and you should do that to get a better looking armour. this one's looks a bit sloppy painted. and try to paint stripes on the horns, gives a much more realistic feeling but the rest is good, really good! i espescially love the fire and the blending on the cloak. not my favourite colour, but well done.

since you asked so politely for comments, how can I possibly refuse? First comment: Join the mini-painter list on yahoo! Second: Base looks nice, I don't think I have much to comment on there, except maybe the highlights should have been a different color.. or try mixing in a little orange in the highlight color to create a reflection. Don't be afraid to do more than mix in white or black to make higlights and shades. The coat is nice.. odd colorchoice for an evil lord.. but nicely painted the horse could use a loving hand though... try thinner paints and more layers.. in fact, a good excercise is to paint something a base color, then from there on ONLY touch it with paints that have been thinned 1:10 with water.. you'll kick yourself for painting the same spot over and over again, but you'll learn a lot about layering. Hope this helps :)
