Hi Gabe... I don't leave a lot of messages but I wanted to let you know that you should still go down to your local Games Workshop even though you don't play. I only paint for fun too - and I'm ALWAYS at my local - I'm lucky though, my local is Warhammer World at Nottingham. The guys are more than happy to give advice whether you game or just paint... I'm lucky enough to get tutorials down there, you should check if ur local does that. Painting tips: I really like your highlights on the blue - but your figure is shiny.. don't varnish them or put sealant on them... I know it's tempting cos you spend ages painting them, but I think it detracts from the paint job. My main tip is keep the paint thinned down with water, it really helps with the blending and overall smoothness of the mini. If you want any specific advice there are some great articles here and out there on the web, or you can email me s.l.lee@btopenworld.com if I can help. Cheers :D

you don't paint much? but that banner looks great. (hehe) seriously now, you high lighting actually seems to be quite good but the choice of colours is creating the problems. the blue on the left hand looks good but the red is pink, not what you want. to highlite red to a high level use bronzed flesh as your final high lite, don't mix in white. go thru the oranges then use b'ed flesh and wash it with a glaze of red gore or red ink. what colours did you use on the gold? the highliting's not as neat as the blue but the colours have potential. i've recently finished a Marnius myself, you can see him in my gallery. if you want to check him out then send me some specific questions i'll try answer as best i can, but mite be a week or to before i reply. anyway the old cliche sums it up best: practise, practise practise...
