Tower House
The foundation of the house is made out of a Hirst Arts mold. The tower is a Pringles can covered with black foam core with the paper stripped off. The house was made from foam core and strips of balsa. I carved the door out of a sheet of balsa and made the hardware out of thin strips of plastic from a For Sale sign. I added the rivets/bolts from a cut Evergreen styrene rod. The handle is made from a hoop for jewelry. The ground work is GW static grass, Woodland Scenics rock molds, ballast and flock. I made the pine trees from cut green rope strands twisted between wire using a drill and then trimmed to shape. I copied the GW hand cart and made a duplicate using thin strips of balsa. I used some templates I made from previous projects for the tower dormers. The base is a beveled MDF board cut to shape. These ramshackle houses are incredibly addictive to make. I worked on it periodically over a year, mostly during the cold, snowy, Michigan winter.
