I painted this guy for a contest. To address the coment that he looks unstable, I will agree with you that he does. But actually he is exteremly stable. I sculpted the rock base around a brass tube in the middle, then pinned him in place. As it turns out his center of balance is dead center of the base, and thus he is very hard to knock over. I wish i could say that i planed it that way, but I really just got lucky in that.

Thanks for all the comments. I do think his score could be higher, but I think he suffers from bad pic syndrome. To answer the painting contest question, I came in 2nd.

I think the overall score for this figure is quite low considering the painting quality and imagination taken to make it. The basing is superb and the warpaint/tattoos are very well painted, and just enough to give him that mystical look. Great job! (aside: how did you do in the contest?)
