Plastic Salamander Marine

Another older creation of mine, this was converted from one of the late-80's plastic "beaky marines". At the time I'd never heard of epoxy putty so all the conversion work is carved sprue. And it shows. Also his forearms are really long... *sigh*

An instant 10 from me. I absolutely dig for oldschool minis. Wait a minute...weren't dark angels BLACK? :D Oh it's a Salamander! I understand how you feel; back in those days things like putties (sculptors) and NMM (anyone remembers that old bloodangels' commander -Ticho I think- painted NMM? I didn't like it at that time)were only in the mind of Professionals. :( Nice conversion for the resources you got. there are even older corvus helms. I paid tribute last year to those 'rines with a wacky green (big feet, no legs... makes no sense, yeah oldschool weirdos can check it here http://lazyminis.blogspot.com/2006/02/el-mariachi.html)

I give it a ten. Those old plastic marines were great. You could say that he has a silenced autopistol for taking out sentries.

I think it is amazing what you were able to do with just sprues. He looks very good to me.
