anonimous bust. sketch tool. teaching aid. nº15
As i have been a long time without posting here oftenly , maybe the majority of you don't know about those busts. I am doing courses all around the world during the last 2 years (Cambridge, Liverpool, Nize, Graz, Ausburg, Frankfurt, Instambul, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Madrid, Malaga, Badalona, Denver, Rome...) I sculpted this bust 2 years ago when i was working in forgeworld, sculpting space marines every day.. and very tired about this i started to create this, my first bust , just to relax and change from my day by day work.. And when i finished it i thought that this could be perfect to provide a good canvas to practice on my courses, and in a year, it has become much more than I expected.. many different versions has been painted by many talented people, and many people has enjoyed it, definitively this is a candy..it came out like something natural, not thought , and fresh.. and i think that this is why people liked it. i use to do demos in all my workshops, so me myself i have painted already 26 versions. those versions are 80-100 minutes sketchy paintings. searching for the impact, the ambiance, and the colour game.. those are teaching aids. but also express my mentality about painting.. if we want to consider it art at some point we MUST accept more styles, and not be constrained just by the perfect blending. many of us, we already achieved perfect transitions in the past.. now is time for expression and freshness I am sick of be constrained by the official taste and rules, that somebody told at some point...painting should not be ONLY smooth transitions . Art is much more than just a technique .. Beauty is beauty no matter how has been done..Painting is expression, expression is communication and communication is a sharing action... i want to share. Eugene Delacroix I guess that this is not easy to be accepted, but think first before vote.. yes, this is not perfectly smooth.. but is it ugly?. has it been done without knowledge ? . Do you think that technique it is only reduced to blend colours and make perfect gradients?.. c'mon! The miniature painting should be beyond this.. we have already reach the perfection in blendings .. Now , it must be something else.. And then, after thinking about this, give me a 1 rating if you dislike. art should provoke discussion.
