Mooncalf

This is a repost with a newer, better photo, showing two angles of this miniature. I converted this from a Chainmail otyugh when I was preparing to run the D&D adventure "Heart of Nightfang Spire." This is the creature featured on the cover of that book: the Mooncalf. The original otyugh legs have been sawn off and used as the bases for some of the many tentacles--which are made of paperclip wires and Kneadatite putty. The wings come from a RAFM Call of Cthulhu Nightgaunt figure. The paint job could have been more colorful, but the idea was to reproduce the beast from the illustration. As a result, the shading and highlighting are somewhat more subtle than I'd prefer, but they still come through on the tabletop well enough. JD Wiker www.jdwiker.com

I always loved this figure from your website. A great conversion, and it really works well as the mooncalf!
