Hero Quest Chaos Warrior

This one I tried using non-miniature metallic paint and found it was a bit too thick. No luck diluting it with water, need to buy a better medium for diluting metallics.

Try painting a base coat based on the colour of the metallic that you'll paint on top, in this case a base coat of a dark green non metallic paint for the armour, and a base coat of black or a dark grey for the axe. Also you can mix metallic paint with regular paint to make shadows and stuff. if you want a coloured metal such as green or violet or red metallic, you can always paint it silver/steel and the paint on top with an ink/wash of the desired colour to tint it. And if the base colour was dark enough, you can leave the darkest areas unpainted (without metallic paint) to make them work as darker shadows. Hope to be explaining myself... it is easily seen/done than written.
