WILLIAM WALLACE_BoxArt for Fer Miniatures

Hi guys. Its been a while since I showed you a boxart. This one is my last collaboration for FeR Miniatures, sculpted by Ramon Martinez. A great figure to enjoy. This is very special to me as is my return to historical subjects. I was so overwhelemed by the great level of the professional painting community that, after many years focussed on my classes and online academy annd painting basically for collectors, whatever I wanted in the way I wanted with no restrictions, I developed my style a lot, but I felt like falling into a lower level in terms of accuracy or technical skills. I am a big fan of many pro painters that i admire and i recognize constantly. And despite of the knowledge or real skills, the truth is that not painting regularly boxarts, rust your skills so much, and cloud your mind. I felt rusted and somehow not confident enough on my skills. I guess that this happens when you feel old inside ofd an industry. The truth is that I love historical subjects and I wanted to try if I was able to do something convincing from the perspective of the general image and also from a technical point of view. So I have forced myself to change my approach to create amore structured workflow trying to reach results to compiter against the grand masters that are constantly impressing us. So here it is. I hope you like it. Process of the shield is already available on http://www.miniatureartacademy.com

Scarface
...absolute incredible artwork ! The metal effects are awesome, I have never seen this before. Only the red hair tone is a little too red.

how did you manage to paint the metal so perfectly? I also praise the model, I just ask what the helmet was really attached to the fighter's torso ...and love little description under picture.
