Gulthias is an evil spell casting vampire and worshipper of Asherdalon an ancient red dragon from DnD's Heart of Nightfang Spire. I tried to make the armor deep red, but this did not work out too well. Now that I have read threads on NMM and SENMM posted by the brilliant folks at this sight, I want to do it all over again. The cape also failed to hit the mark. I wanted ghostly faces swirling around, trapped in the fabric. Unfortunately, I did not work hard enough at it and got comic looking faces. Bummer.

I really like the detail you put on the cloak, in the book and (my favorite) on the sword...I did read what you said about the cloak..and I think it looks fine in the pic

Perhaps some brown or burgandy glazes would darken the armour for you. Actually I find flesh wash mixed with brown ink works well on reds. My problem is usually trying to get bright reds, not dark.
