Wedding Cake Top - White Red Lioness - WIP, part 2

Hi All, This is the second "Work In Progress" shot of the diorama I’m doing for my Wedding Cake topper. Sorry these pics are not as good as the last set, I was rushing. :( Basically, the idea is a Red Lioness, done in variations of white, and a Knight of Alahan, done in black or dark blues; representing the Bride and Groom (me). The figures will be standing on a snowy river bank about to cross to a grassy spring like bank. This is the second piece completed, the Lioness herself, so now 60% of the project’s done and only 4 more painting days left before I have to stop for the Wedding. The Wedding is April 8th, but I have to be finished before Tuesday, April 4th. D’OH! To see the White Lionesses horse go here ID #49441 I'm trying to post each part as I get finished, and the final diorama before the wedding. After the Wedding, I’ll post one of the actual cake, so you can see it complete. :D Wish me luck. ;) Cheers, Darkblade [AAvH-Darkblade]

What a great idea, I would have never thought of incorporating minatures into a wedding cake. This is truely a fantastic minaiture. Can't wait to see the groom!(You.)

Hi Matt, Thanks for the very nice comment. What I meant by metal NMM is basically painting with metallic paints but still trying to highlight as though using NMM. Basically, exaggerating the highlights and adding colours to add more depth and such. Which is, as you say, and I agree quite simply painting with metallic paints, but trying to take it to a higher level. The term has been used in the forums, which is where I got it from. So again thanks and Cheers, Darkblade.
